The Al-Shabab’s first response of Muktar Robow defection released.

In what seems to be the first-ever lasting response since the fate of Sheikh Muktar Roobow known as abu Mansur had gone out of their hands, the al-Shabab publicly declared how they fell apart with the Sheikh.

In a video that lasted for about thirty minutes, the al-Shabab spokesperson, Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rage Dhere, said that there was prolonged conflict and some difference of opinions among them that finally resulted his defection.

They accused him of being involved in betrayal acts against the group as he was secretly working with foreign agencies.

“At the first as we know there are so-called humanitarian agencies who are no longer willing to help us prosper in anyway. Instead, they wish to see us feel the pain and experience how tough they crippled you,” he said – adding that – on the contrary – they had successfully gotten rid of these agencies out their stronghold controlled areas.

“But abu Mansur continued to working with them in a way that was betraying us.”

Speaking further, Sheikh Ali Dhere reiterated that Robow was a man whose delusion overshadowed his aim of dividing the al-Shabab.

“He numerously tried assassination attempts,” he said. “But we fought him back and defeated.”

“He will be in vain and follow the same way taken by Ahmed Madobe and Sheikh Sharif, the former president of Somalia.” Dhere proudly assured.

After days of long battle with al-Shabab, the former al-Shabab speaker, Sheikh Muktar has inevitably surrendered to central government.

Since then, he criticized his former ally of being harsh and unpredictable people.

He is now in talks with Somali government.
